Consultancies

Antares offers consultancies in relation to psychosocial managerial care and mental health issues of staff. The Antares team comprises a wide range of mental health and management expertise which enables us to offer support and advice on the complexities of staff care and project management.

Consultancies and psychosocial staff support activities for national and international NGOs are offered and constructed in many different ways.

For national NGOs, Antares combines assessment and design of staff support needs with an examination of existing NGO staff support and management systems and potential feasibility and sustainability of recommended changes. Organizations can for example, request assistance to review and design staff support policies and practices to reduce the risk of burnout, fatigue, distress, mental and psychosocial health issues due to working for an organization under pressure and operating in complex, hostile or resource poor environments.

For international NGOs, support missions can be carried out in the field, but also Management and HRM departments at Headquarter level can be supported in developing staff care systems for both Headquarter and country staff.

The Antares Foundation emphasizes the need for a whole-staff approach to staff care and not an exclusive focus on expatriate wellbeing.

The Antares Foundation seeks to consult, survey, analyse and learn from the feedback of staff and managers prior to making recommendations for implementation or change. Assessment and design activity is often complemented with training to expand awareness and maximize the consultative process.

The Antares Foundation is regularly approached to assist with the support of international mental health programs and psychosocial support teams following a disaster. Our role is to support staff teams to do their job effectively by minimizing the impact of stress and trauma on their own capacity. This is often achieved by offering specialist psychosocial and stress mitigation training in the field; mentoring managers and facilitating intercollegial learning opportunities.
